What to Expect in an Acupuncture TreatmentAupuncture at EHC lasts one hour per visit, but you should plan for 1h15min. Usually the first 10 minutes are spent chatting about your current health, then the acupuncturist pops out while you undress, keeping your underwear on. You climb onto the massage table, under crisp, clean sheets and blankets, and take a sigh of relief, this is your time. If you'd prefer to leave your clothes on and lay on top of the covers, that's fine! Our aim is to make you as comfortable as possible so that the treatment has the best results -and so that you want to come back again! The acupuncture points stay in for 30-45 minutes, which most people find is an ideal time for a power nap. We stay in the room with you during your entire treatment, so we're there if you need anything, usually taking this time to hold a few pressure points or do a little relaxing massage. After the treatment, it's pretty common to feel a bit spacey, in a good way, as you enjoy the rush of natural 'feel-good' endorphins enter your system, promoting health, wellbeing and relaxation.
